Our Philosophy

Allegheny Ballet offers individuals of all ages the best in dance training. From beginning boys and girls through advanced men and women, the school provides carefully structured classes in progressive levels of achievement. The school faculty places strong emphasis on individual attention and corrections. Instruction at the Allegheny Ballet is not solely for the serious dancer, as those interested in dance as a recreational activity also have the opportunity to work with our talented staff. Dance helps to develop a strong, flexible, and graceful form, as well as provides cultural experiences that will contribute to mature development and social refinement. Our alumni are members of the New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and many other companies throughout the country.

Creative Movement A - for age 3 years.

Early exposure to music, movement, and fun.

Girls wear pink leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair is in a neat bun.

Creative Movement B - for ages 4 - 5 years.

Emphasis or imagination, self-expression, and movement.

Girls wear pink leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Black tap shoes are needed. Hair is in a neat bun.

10:30 - 11:15am - Ballet & Tap
$35 a month

Level 1 - for ages 6 & up.

Emphasis on energy, individual confidence, and early vocabulary.

Girls wear white leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Black tap shoes are needed. Hair is in a neat bun.

10:45 - 11:45am - Ballet & Tap
$40 a month

Level 2 - for 1st - 2nd grades.

Emphasis on proper technique and building a vocabulary of steps.

Girls wear black leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair in a neat bun for ballet. Any solid colored leotard and tights may be worn for tap and jazz with hair in a pony-tail and any tap and jazz shoes.

Thursday
4:30 - 5:30pm - Ballet

Level 3A & 3B - for 2nd - 3rd grades.

Emphasis on class structure and proper technique with an expanding range of steps.

Girls wear black leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair in a neat bun for ballet. Any solid colored leotard and tights may be worn for tap and jazz with hair in a pony-tail and any tap and jazz shoes.

Level 4A & 4B - for 3rd grade & up.

Focus on correct technique, knowledge of all vocabulary, and pointe work addded.

Girls wear black leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pink pointe shoes, and hair in a neat bun for ballet. Any solid colored leotard and tights may be worn for tap and jazz with hair in a pony-tail and tap and jazz shoes.

Advanced Division Levels 5 - 6

Focus on perfect technique, execution of all steps, pointe & men's class, partnering, and many more performance opportunities. All classes listed below are ballet and pointe.

Level 5A*

Dress code is same as Level 4, but solid colored leotards may be worn on Saturday classes.

Boys Dress Code - White t-shirt tucked into thick black or gray tights, dance belt (athletic supporter), white socks, black or white ballet shoes. Any Jazz & Tap shoes.
